Marvelous Machines

You have got machines push you along
Keep you warm and dry, sing you a song
Carve a chunk of day out of the night
Freeze a pleasing sound, a pretty sight

I can see I've met a man of means
From this wealth of marvelous machines

Make a wish, then make it real
I only know what I see and feel
In a world
Of marvelous machines

You have got machines to keep you well
Keep flies from your eyes, your soul from hell
Drive those evil thoughts out of your head
Look around the world, talk with the dead

Pardon me these wild and childish dreams
Dreams of all these marvelous machines

Make a wish then make it real
Add tons of concrete and glass and steel
Let it bake an hour at six degrees
Bring all the tribes of the world to their knees
For the love
Of marvelous machines
