Tough Guy
(A True Story)

I've always known
how to be alone
even in the middle of a crowd
ask myself just who am I now
and when I want to be alone
I paint myself a rolling stone and
I'm gone.

When I fear I'm losing weight,
it's hard to match the density of a burning hate.
Put on a less than happy face
and pray that no one puts me in my place.
But in my boot there's a hidden razor
I enter the room and draw my phaser
I'm gone.

Telltale Heart is beating loud
serves Poetic justice for the proud
beating out a military tune
The Three of Swords covering The Moon
And like some postwar thriller flick
I paint myself a lunatic and
I'm gone.
